Conceived by writer, jill Wright, Genius Games is a reflection of jill’s own creative journey as an artist, writer, and imaginative thinker. Jill has spent her entire adult life embracing the realm of originality and creative thought. She has won or been nominated for awards ranging from The Pablo Neruda Poetry Prize, to IFTC Audience Choice selection in Toronto and has written across a spectrum of media including books for children and computer games. She has been a consultant and/or lecturer at Apple Computer, Lucas Film, Warner Bros., Stanford University, UCLA, Loyola Marymount, Voyager Company, Los Angeles Children’s Museum, American Library Association, English Teachers of Los Angeles, Long Beach State, San Francisco State, National Alliance of Theater in Education, ARCO, UC Berkeley, Kachemak Bay Writer’s Conference, and many others. Her work is taught in the IT Masters program at UC Berkeley.
jill has developed a unique method for coaching creatives and helping them break through to their best work in a short amount of time. She teaches Seminars for Innovation using Genius Games— techniques developed for the innovators at Apple Computer. She also works as a teacher and consultant for writers at all skill level through her All The Wright Words classes and workshops. An innovative thinker and believer in the genius capabilities of those around her, actor Ed Asner observed, "jill Wright is a prophet in her own country."
Dr. Rebecca Johannsen
Dr. Rebecca Johannsen holds a Ph.D. in Theatre from the University of California Irvine and UC San Diego joint doctoral program.
In addition to teaching theatre at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts Drama Program, and Speech and Communication at Mercy College in New York, Rebecca has been working with leaders from wide-ranging fields for over seven years to enhance their communication skills. Rebecca’s specialty is to use exercises from the theatre as practical application for current soft skills theories. She teaches courses in Emotional Intelligence, Collaborative Intelligence, and Public Speaking to diverse industries from Biotech to Government Contractors, from Information Technology to Healthcare.
In addition to her teaching work, Dr. Johannsen is the founder and former artistic director of Stone Soup Theatre Company in San Diego. She has directed and produced theatre from California to New York City, and is currently working in the Director’s Program at the Young Vic Theatre in London.
